Just read a little about a French/Israeli movie
at Cinema Beacon that sounds like it's right up my alley. It's called
Kirot and it stars the very busy lately Olga Kurylenko (
Quantum Of Solace,
Hitman) as "A woman coerced into becoming a hit woman for a shadowy organization after being imprisoned for working as a prostitute. She escapes from her new employees and joins forces with an abused woman she encounters on the run. Together they embark on a campaign of revenge."

According to Cinema Beacon, the director,
Danny Lerner, was asked what the film was about and his response was
""It's about two girls and lots of guns".SOLD.
I really liked Kurylenko in
Quantum Of Solace and I really like the idea of her in a role like this, even if the plot sounds totally unoriginal. Here's to hoping for some well done action and violence perpetrated by attractive women. Usually a good formula for a positive review from me.
On a somewhat related note, Olga is also starring in the new Neil Marshall (
The Descent,
Doomsday) film,
Centurion, alongside Dominic West.

That film, about Romans and wars and shit, looks fucking awesome so far. Marshall described Kurylenko's character thusly: "Her family were butchered by the Romans, she had her tongue cut out by the Romans, she's had a hell of a time and she's out for Roman blood." I guess a demo reel was shown to some people at Cannes and the buzz has been pretty good so far. It's tentatively scheduled for release later this year.
Even though I doubt Ms. Kurylenko gets to shoot anybody in that one, I am REALLY looking forward to it.
And I gotta say if she wants to just play characters who are A) angry B) vengeful C) violent or D) all of the above for the rest of her career, I am perfectly ok with that.
